Sarah Benjes is an employment lawyer with 15 years of experience representing employers nationally on workplace matters. Sarah focuses her practice on employment counseling, compliance, transactions, and litigation. Sarah partners with employers to navigate difficult employee issues, assess potential risks, and identify practical solutions.
Counseling, Compliance: Sarah advises national employers of all sizes on complex workplace issues, including employee hiring, discipline and discharge; disability, religious, and pregnancy accommodations; preventing harassment and discrimination in the workplace; and complying with wage and hour, equal pay, and leave laws. She assists clients in drafting employment contracts, consulting agreements, non-compete agreements, employee policies, employee handbooks, and separation agreements. Sarah conducts internal investigations, employment policy and practice internal audits, and pay equity audits. She also trains management teams, and employees on harassment and discrimination prevention, reducing the risk of employment claims, best practices for hiring, managing, and terminating employees, and compliance with employee leave and disability laws.
Transactions: Sarah assists clients on employment matters in connection with complex transactions, including reviewing employment policies and practices, and drafting employment and contractor agreements related to such transactions.
Litigation: Sarah represents clients in employment disputes involving alleged violations of federal and state employment statutes and common law claims. She has experience representing employers in federal and state courts and at federal and state administrative agencies.
