Clay Taylor is a member of Williams Weese Pepple & Ferguson’s Environment and Natural Resources Practice. Clay has extensive experience as an in-house attorney advising on environmental and general oil and gas matters. Clay has overseen and implemented environmental, health, and safety audits and environmental compliance and inspection programs. Clay has particular experience settling enforcement actions with state and federal agencies, including the EPA, and responding to Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act information requests. He also has experience in various Colorado air quality and oil and gas rulemakings. In 2015, Clay was awarded the Colorado Petroleum Association’s President’s award for his efforts in guiding implementation of Colorado’s 2014 oil and gas air rules, and in 2019, he was awarded EPA’s Clean Air Excellence award, together with Colorado’s Storage Tank Workgroup, for development of guidance for control of Colorado storage tank emissions.  In addition, Clay has experience drafting and negotiating oil and gas midstream gathering and marketing agreements, as well as asset purchase and sale agreements. He began his career as an Attorney for Whiting Oil and Gas Corporation in Denver, Colorado.
