Carlos Romo Takes Helm as President of Colorado Hispanic Bar Association

January 11, 2022 – Denver

Firm Director Carlos Romo has taken over as President of the Colorado Hispanic Bar Association, effective January 1, 2022.

Incorporated in 1977 (the year Carlos was born), the Colorado Hispanic Bar Association was envisioned as the legal adviser to the Hispanic community in Colorado and a catalyst in expanding the number of Hispanics in the legal profession.

Carlos plans to use his public policy and social justice background to build on CHBA’s pro bono efforts. “CHBA Members’ contributions to pro bono service are impressive. I hope to channel some of that energy toward the growing housing and eviction crisis in Colorado due to COVID by creating a Special Task Force on Access to Justice.”

Carlos also plans to expand the organization’s formal mentorship program. “CHBA is a ‘leadership machine.’ I want to ensure Hispanic law students and younger lawyers have access to the great mentors in this organization to both encourage them to enter the legal profession and have successful careers.”

Carlos is a Director in the Firm’s Natural Resources and Environmental Practice Areas. He has been recognized as a top lawyer by 5280 Magazine, Best Lawyers, and Superlawyers.
